iglidur® tribo-tape W160
 
igus® tribo-tape liner is designed for the versatile lining of tribologically challenged surfaces and shapes, for optimising movement within machine beds, etc. At a thickness of only 0.5mm (including the adhesive tape + 1mm), very little space is needed. The tape is easily fabricated - simply cut with a pair of scissors - and the optional self-adhesive tapes give almost unlimited possibilities.
iglidur® tribo-tape liner is also available with self-adhesive tapes for quick and easy installation.
With its white colour and UV stabilising additives, iglidur® W160 tribo-tape offers even more design freedom as a visual part.
The original antibacterial variant of the iglidur® W160 material is no longer available due to an amendment to the Biocides Regulation. A new antibacterial version is being developed.
 

Borders of the area to be bonded with adhesive tape strips
 
There are limits to the adhesive strength of the pressure sensitive tape with which this tribo-tape is equipped. A number of environmental influences can affect the adhesive system, causing substrates to peel away, which would not occur in structural bonding.
High-strength adhesive bonds which can bear continuous load, can normally only be achieved with chemically reactive one or two-component adhesives. In such cases, adhesive, substrate and substrate pre-treatment must be carefully harmonised. The many combination potentials prevent us from providing precise instructions or giving recommendations here.
We want to point out explicitly that the iglidur® tribo-tape adhesive tape strips can only facilitate the installation and fixing of the tape. Experience shows that the adhesive strength of the tape decreases over time. igus is not liable for insufficiencies of an adhesive system based on adhesive tape strips.
