Bearings

In the context of mechanical engineering, one considers bushings as sleeve bearings. These are utilised for the mechanical decoupling of components which should move relative to each other (e.g. a shaft/housing).

igus® manufactures bushings from wear-optimised plastic. iglidur® materials are specially optimised for applications as sliding bushings and provide optimum wear resistance, irrespective of whether in the field in dirt and dust or in the clean room laboratory. iglidur® bushings do not require any lubrication and are therefore completely maintenance-free and cost-effective compared to metal bushings.

With more than 8,500 standard dimensions, iglidur® bushings are available with or without flanges and in various other types. Other shapes and dimensions according to your specifications can be produced by injection moulding or from machined iglidur® bar stock materials.
