Glands

What is a cable gland?

The origin of the cable gland dates back to a development by Otto Pflitsch in the 1960s. He was the first to develop a cable entry in which tightening a compression screw compresses a rubber ring around the cable, thereby sealing the housing. A short time later, Otto and Harald Pflitsch jointly developed an alternative cable gland. This allows the cable to be fixed more gently by an alternative insert and the transition from the cable into the housing is sealed.
